Frequently Asked Questions

Buh?

Right, so you need an explanation of this then...

Look at a London tube/train map. Not just the centre map you get in tourist guides. Look at the enormous one (here [447K, GIF]). All the pink stations, around the rim of the map, are in Zone 6. And it is my mission over the next six months or so to visit them all and tell everybody about them.

What for? Why would you even want to stray out of Zone 2?

There's a lot of variety in the outer ring of Londinium; from the marshes of Rainham, to the forests of Epping, to the old military village at Enfield Lock, and the big airport thingy at Heathrow. The places and people who squat on the rim of this great metropolis have never been brought to light. Until now.

I live in [xxx]. When are you coming here!

I don't know. But I'll visit them all, eventually.

Why are you always so negative?

Nonsense. I distinctly remember saying that Slade Green's church was quite nice, and that the biscuits in a shop in Turkey Street were really tasty.

I live in [xxx] and your description of it is really inaccurate!

Basically, what happens is this. I go to a place, walk round for two hours, draw and scribble in my notebook, and then leave. Your area has those two hours to impress me. If that happens to be the two hours where you let the dribbling loonies out for their weekly fresh air, then that's nothing to do with me.

Are those real people you draw?

Yes, although I change them enough so that I'm not on the end of a defamation lawsuit. If anybody thinks they recognise themselves on this site, they're wrong.

It's all very well for a smug twat like you to come and slag off my area. I bet yours isn't much better.

You'd be right.

I have a blog, can I link to you?

Yes please. Any through-links I see from blogs coming to this site I'll reciprocate on the front page.

I want to contact you to let you know of a spelling mistake / ask you a question not here / interview you as part of a stinging denouncement of the website in a local newspaper / find out directions to firebomb your house / generally comment / say hello / offer you money / offer you drugs / offer you a lucrative three-book publishing deal.

You can contact me on this page.
